Dennis Bergkamp reveals Wenger's error that caused Arsenal’s decline

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has suggested that he could join forces with the Spotify chief Daniel Ek and three of his former players in order to launch a takeover bid.

Apparently, the Spotify chief is looking to buy Arsenal along with the likes of Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Dennis Bergkamp.

Current owners Kroenke sports and entertainment have come under a lot of criticism because of their decision to sign up for the European Super League.

The Gunners were one of the six Premier League clubs to commit to the European Super League before backing out of the decision following massive protests from their fans.

The Arsenal fans are now urging Kroenke to sell up and move on after years of mismanagement.

There is no doubt that Arsenal could use a change in ownership, and a fresh direction could be good for the club right now.

However, a takeover is easier said than done, and it is an immensely complex procedure that will take time and incredible investment.

The Spotify owner Daniel Ek is worth around £3.5 billion. It will be interesting to see if he can convince the Kroenke’s to part with the London club anytime soon.

Wenger said: “I would say I like the fact that former people of the club run the club.

“Basically, you have two examples in the football world – former players who run the club like Bayern [Munich] or big investors who buy a club like Man City.

“I personally, because I’m a football man, I like the fact that former Arsenal players take over and give advice.

“For the project, I prefer personally… the best deals I made were when nobody knew about it, and you come out, and it’s done. When you announce things, you have a mountain to climb after. Nobody wants to give in.

“It’s easier always when you do your deals; when it’s done, you come out and [announce it].

“Look, I will always support Arsenal. If I can help Arsenal, I will do it in any way. That’s my answer.

“If not, I am happy in my life. I think the fans give me credit that I always put Arsenal first. I sacrificed many of the best years of my life in my career to help the club get out of building the new stadium without any money from anybody.

“We didn’t go out and say we needed money, we did it with the quality of our work, and we remained at the top.”

"We're hearing Kroenke has no intention of selling Arsenal... but that doesn't mean you can't try and buy Arsenal and that is what Daniel Ek wants to do." @SkyKaveh provides updates on the Arsenal takeover situation.
