Barca revive interest in Lautaro Martinez

Barcelona are reportedly back in the race for Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez, whom the Catalans had been heavily linked with during last summer.

Barca are contemplating over striker options ahead of the summer transfer window, with Erling Haaland topping the wishlist. However, Martinez has been considered as an alternative if they fail in the pursuit of Haaland.

Manchester City end their interest in Messi

Manchester City have decided to end their pursuit of Lionel Messi as they feel that the Argentine could eventually renew his contract with the Catalans.

City had been keeping tabs on the 33-year-old for a while and even came close to his acquisition last summer.

Now, Man City’s priority turns out to be signing a young striker who can replace Sergio Aguero in the long run. Romelu Lukaku, Haaland and Harry Kane are said to be on the wishlist.

Lyon president on Depay’s future

Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas has provided a major update on Memphis Depay’s future, stating that the Dutch man’s decision would be respected.

Depay has emerged as a strong candidate for the striker role at Barca, with Ronald Koeman also eager for a reunion.

“I have nothing to criticise him for,” said Aulas. “I will respect his decision. If he goes to a bigger club than Lyon, he’ll be right.

“If he stays this will mean that we’ve been a great adventure for him and we have won something.”
