The Spaniard is one of the candidates to replace underperforming Ronald Koeman.

Former Barcelona midfielder Xavi has revealed his desire to become the manager of the Catalan club.

Xavi, who currently manages Qatari club Al Sadd, has been reportedly identified as one of the candidates to replace under-fire Ronald Koeman.

The Dutch gaffer’s future at the Nou Camp has been thrown into doubt following a lacklustre start to the season.

Reports are stating that the Catalan club would fire Koeman if the results don’t improve in the upcoming games.

Xavi, one of the favourites for the job, has now addressed the speculations on his potential return to Barca, stating that he is open to any offers.

The legendary Spanish midfielder said (h/t The Daily Mail): “Any offer will be evaluated and then a decision will be made.

“I don’t know where my future will take me, but I’m open to anything.”

Earlier, former Barca star Andres Iniesta stated that Xavi’s dream is to manage Barcelona and he looks ready for the job.

However, Luis Suarez, who also played with Xavi at the Nou Camp, warned the Spaniard that he shouldn’t accept the role amid the current crisis at Barca.

Xavi has long been mooted to become the manager of Barca due to his roots with the club. Having spent his entire playing career at Barca, fans believe that Xavi is the right man to steady the ship at Barca.

Roberto Martinez, Erik Ten Hag and Pirlo are other names on the wishlist to replace Koeman.

The Blaugrana will face Valencia in their next La Liga fixture after the international break.
