Dortmund director confirms agreement that will allow Jadon Sancho to leave

Jadon Sancho-Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho has been linked with a move away from the German club this summer.

According to reports, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have joined the race to sign the 21-year-old England international who will cost around £86.7 million.

Apparently, the German club have a gentleman’s agreement with Sancho, and they will allow him to leave the club this summer if their asking price is met.

Sancho has been linked with a move back to England for a while now, and it will be interesting to see if he returns to the Premier League this summer.

The likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United could certainly use more quality in their attack, and Sancho could be a terrific addition for them.

The Dortmund star has 12 goals and 18 assists to his name so far this season. The 21-year-old is still quite young, and he’s likely to get better with experience. He has a lot of time and the required potential to justify the reported £86.7 million price tag in future.

Bundesliga Club director Michael Zorc has confirmed that Dortmund will allow the player to leave this summer.

“We already had a gentlemen’s agreement with Jadon last year that he can switch under certain conditions,’ Zorc said. “He’s been with us for a couple of years. However, this agreement does not exist with Erling [Haaland].”

All of the top clubs have been hit financially because of the pandemic, and it will be interesting to see if they can pay the asking price for Sancho. Most clubs would have to pay a club-record fee if they want to sign the highly-rated winger this summer.
