Pavel Nedved says Ronaldo and Pirlo won’t leave this summer

Juventus vice president Pavel Nedved has stated both Andrea Pirlo and Cristiano Ronaldo would not leave this summer.

The Old Lady has endured a torrid season in Serie A – the chances of Champions League qualification are bleak – which has cast doubts on the future of manager Pirlo and star forward Ronaldo.

However, Nedved has now ruled out the exit speculations by insisting the duo will survive at Allianz Stadium beyond this summer.

Nedved said: Pirlo and Ronaldo will stay at Juventus. There are some difficulties, but we’ll fight until the end.”

Pirlo recently stated that he is not thinking of quitting the managerial job as he looks to continue with Bianconeri for next season as well.

As far as Ronaldo is concerned, there have been exit rumours of late as the Portuguese fear that he could miss out playing in the Champions League for the first time in his career.

The Old Lady, who are currently fifth in the Serie A table, will face Sassuolo and Champions Inter Milan subsequently, but they can finish inside top-four only if Atalanta, Milan and Napoli drop points.

Buffon confirms summer departure

The legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon has confirmed that he would be leaving the Old Lady this summer.

The 43-year-old, who had won a plethora of trophies with Juve, feels that he has reached the end of the cycle.

Buffon said: “We have reached the end of a cycle, and so it is right for me to take my leave.

“This beautiful and very long experience with Juve will come to a definitive end this year.”
