Klopp on managing Real Madrid

Liverpool take on Real Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday night and manager Jurgen Klopp has been quizzed about a potential job at the Santiago Bernabeu in future.

However, the German manager revealed that it won’t be a regret for him if he does not manage Real Madrid in his career.

The Spanish outfit are one of the biggest clubs in world football and Jurgen Klopp is a world-class manager.

The German has a contract at Liverpool until 2024 and it will be interesting to see where he ends up after that. Klopp has been linked with the German national team job in recent months.

Speaking about the Real Madrid job, Klopp said: “I said if I had at the end of my career only three clubs which would be Mainz, Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool, then it’s not too bad. I would not regret it [never managing Real Madrid].

“You asked if I would regret it if I would never manage Real Madrid, I don’t think so.”

Klopp hails Trent Alexander-Arnold

Meanwhile, the Liverpool manager hailed the performance of Trent Alexander-Arnold against Arsenal at the weekend.

Klopp said: “Trent Alexander-Arnold showed his class, again. I don’t want to make another discussion about Trent or stuff like that. I said it was Gareth [Southgate’s] decision.

“He is blessed with the choice he has in that position especially, but Trent is in a good shape. If somebody says he is not then I have to say he is wrong, that is all. But I am not responsible for [Southgate’s] decisions.”

The Liverpool defender was recently left out of the England squad during the international break because of his mixed performances this season but the young defender showed exactly why he is the best right-back in the country.

Alexander-Arnold was solid at the back against the Gunners and he created quite a few goalscoring opportunities for his teammates.
