Fringe players could help save £1M per week

Manchester United could shave off a considerable portion of their wage bill if they get rid of their fringe players at the end of the season.

The likes of David De Gea, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Phil Jones and Edinson Cavani could all leave Old Trafford this summer and it could save Manchester United nearly £1 million per week.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is thought to be planning for a squad overhaul in the summer and it will be interesting to see if the Red Devils can get rid of their deadwood and bring in fresh talent.

United will be hoping to challenge Manchester City for the title next season and it remains to be seen whether they can plug the obvious gaps in their squad during the summer transfer window.

Camavinga interest

The Devils are thought to be looking at the French youngster Eduardo Camavinga as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba.

The World Cup winner has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford for a while now and it remains to be seen whether United are willing to cash in on him this summer.

Pogba has been linked with a move back to Juventus and Camavinga would be a superb long term signing for the Red Devils.

The Rennes midfielder has already made a name for himself in the French League and he has the talent to step up and perform in the Premier League as well.

Matic eyeing Benfica return

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has recently claimed that he would like to return to Benfica before the end of his career.

The Portuguese outfit helped the Serbian develop into a quality defensive midfielder after leaving Chelsea and it will be interesting to see if Matic gets his wish in the coming months.

Benfica manager Jorge Jesus recently admitted that it would be difficult for the Portuguese club to sign the player because of the financial constraints but there is no doubt that Matic is a quality player and he is still in an excellent condition to help Benfica.

“It is very difficult to happen,” Jesus added. “Portuguese clubs do not have the capacity to hire players who represent the great teams in Europe.”
