Haaland demands £600,000 a week

Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

The 20-year-old has established himself as one of the best strikers in the world and it appears that the Premier League side will have to fork out an absurd amount of money to sign in this summer.

According to reports, Dortmund value the player at £150 million and Haaland wants to be the best paid player in Premier League history.

Apparently, Manchester United will have to pay him wages of around £600,000 a week.

The overall package of the transfer is likely to cross £300 million and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United or any other suitors are willing to splash out that kind of money on the Norwegian.

The player has been linked with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Paris Saint Germain as well.

For Manchester United, it would be difficult deal, considering Haaland agent Mino Raiola does not have good terms with the Premier League giant.

Martial injury update

Manchester United have been handed a major injury boost with striker Anthony Martial expected to return to action soon.

The attacker picked up an injury during France’ win over Kazakhstan at the weekend but manager Didier Deschamps has confirmed that Martial has undergone scans and the injury is not serious.

Deschamps said: “Anthony has a small issue on his knee. Nothing is decided yet [whether he can play]. He won’t be taking part in the training session. We’ll see tomorrow (Wednesday). Anything serious has been dismissed. We’ve run some tests, but there’s still the pain, and having travelled as long as we have, that hasn’t helped.”

However, the player is still in pain and he has not trained with his national team this week.

Manchester United will be hoping that he can return to action this weekend against Brighton. Martial is expected to miss the match against Bosnia later tonight.
