Croatian international Luka Modric has now agreed to extend his Real Madrid contract for another season.

The central midfielder was supposed to be a free agent this summer, but he has signed a one-year extension following an impressive individual season.

Despite being in the mid-30s, Modric is one of the best players at the club, and it is no surprise that Real Madrid have decided to offer him a new deal.

The Croatian has been one of the most influential Real Madrid players of the last decade, and he has helped them win several major titles like the Spanish La Liga and the UEFA Champions League.

Modric will be hoping to guide Real Madrid to another League title and a Champions League title before leaving the club next summer.

Real Madrid were extremely close to winning the Spanish League this season, but Atletico Madrid managed to edge the contest on the final day of the season.

The fans will be delighted with the club’s decision to award Modric an extension. He had been a prolific performer and important member of Los Blancos over the past few years.

The midfielder joined Real Madrid in 2012, and he has established himself as an undisputed starter for the club ever since.

Along with trophies, Modric has won individual accolades during his time at Santiago Bernabeu as well. He won the Balon d’Or in 2018 for his exploits with club and country. He was one of the best players in the World Cup that year.
