Antonio Conte set to stay at Inter Milan after meeting with the board

Antonio Conte put Inter to the top of Serie A, despite 16 injuries in 4 months

The Italian manager had been linked with an exit after just one season at San Siro.

The speculations of leaving San Siro are over for Antonio Conte as he will remain as the coach of Inter Milan for the next season.

According to reports, Inter have confirmed that Conte will be their coach for the upcoming season, putting an end to exit speculations.

Conte is understood to have had a meeting with the Inter hierarchy to discuss his future, and a positive outcome has now emerged.

It was previously reported that the former Chelsea gaffer was considering his future at the San Siro after having been left disappointed with the club’s planning.

Conte went vocal about Inter’s inability to have a structure like Juventus and singled out the failures to protect their players on and off the field.

The former Bianconeri gaffer did cast doubts on his future after the Europa League final defeat, stating that he didn’t know whether he would continue as the manager of Inter Milan.

Conte announced his return to the managerial fold in the best possible way as he revived the Inter squad, which has been lacklustre for the past few seasons.

However, he ultimately failed to win any of the trophies as Inter finished second in the Scudetto and runners up in the Europa League final.

Former Juventus manager Max Allegri was touted as the ideal candidate to replace Conte at Inter.
