Arsenal are interested in signing the Croatian defender Domagoj Vida.
The experienced centre back has been linked with a move to the Premier league for a while now. He managed to impress during the last World cup.
The 31 year old could prove to be a decent short term signing for the Gunners. They need defensive depth and Vida would be ideal.
As per reports, the player is available for a fee of £6m.
Arsenal can certainly afford to pay that for the defender.
It will be interesting to see if the player is keen to play for them. He might not be a regular starter ahead of Sokratis & Luiz.
A player of his age might not want a bit-part role. Vida will want to play every week if he joins thd club.
It remains to be seen if Arsenal make an offer for the player in the coming months.
The Gunners must improve at the back in order to fight for a top four finish next season. Even if the deal for Vida doesn’t work out, they must prioritize the signing of a quality defender this summer.
Meanwhile, West Brom are keen on the player as well and Besiktas are looking to sell. If Arsenal don’t swoop in fast, they could easily miss out on the defender.
The Turkish club are under financial stress and they will be desperate to cash in on a high earner like Vida.
