Barcelona President feels Neymar return is unlikely

PSG 2-0 Dortmund Neymar put PSG in quarters, mock Haaland celebration

Neymar has been linked with a return to Barcelona ever since he left them from PSG.

The Brazilian formed a lethal partnership with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez during his time at the club and he helped them win the League and the Champions League.

It will be interesting to see if Barcelona try and bring him back to the club this summer.

Club president Josep Bartomeu has now admitted that the transfer would be complicated because of the financial impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Clubs have lost millions in revenue because of the suspension of leagues and the absence of matchday revenue. In this market, signing Neymar could prove to be a risky financial move.

It is believed that Lionel Messi wants the club to bring Neymar back and he has wanted the transfer to happen for a while now. In fact, he was quite unhappy when the club failed to sign the PSG last summer.

It will be interesting to see how the saga unfolds in the coming months now.

Neymar would certainly be keen on a return to Spain if the opportunity presents itself. He has nothing left to prove in France.

Bartomeu has also addressed the rumours surrounding Messi’s future. He revealed that Messi has previously stated his desire to retire at Barcelona and he sees the Argentine continuing at Camp Nou beyond this season.
