Bayern Munich are reportedly looking to sign Barcelona goalkeeper and Germany international Marc-André ter Stegen.
According to El Nacional via GOAL, the Bavarians are looking to bring the 30-year-old goalie to Allianz Arena as a replacement for the long-serving goalkeeper and team captain Manuel Neuer.
36-year-old Neuer has been at Bayern since 2011 and has been a constant fixture at the Bavarian backline. But he has missed a few games this season through injuries. He could soon be coming to the end of his career, given that his contract expires in 2024.
Bayern has identified his National teammate Ter Stegen as a possible replacement but will have to pay a transfer fee of at least €40m to sign the goalkeeper.
The Catalan signed Ter Stegen for €12m in 2914 but won’t budge to Bayern Munich’s demands easily since the goalkeeper’s contract runs with them until 2025.
Ter Stegen has been impressive this season between the sticks, especially in La Liga, where he has kept eleven clean sheets in 14 games.
