Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund will look to get their first win against their fierce rivals Bayern Munich in nine tries when they welcome them to the Westfalenstadion this Saturday for the 134th edition of the German Klassiker.

The hosts have suffered eight consecutive defeats at the hands of their Bavarian rivals ahead of this tie but will enter into this fixture in confident mode following their impressive showing in Spain in midweek.

Edin Terzic’s men come into this tie on the back of an impressive 4-1 win over Sevilla in the Champions League on Wednesday–a game that saw Jude Bellingham, who captained the team for the second time this season, both score a goal and provide an assist.

The Englishman has been in impressive form this season and at 19 years is leading the team in the absence of Marco Reus. Terzic will hope that he can continue his great showing this weekend when they host a Bayern Munich side who have shown signs of weakness this season.

Having missed the chance to go top of the league table last week and three points clear of their rivals with a disappointing 3-2 loss to FC Koln over the weekend, Dortmund can climb above Bayern if they win this game given that both sides come into this side sitting on 15 points.

Possible Borussia Dortmund starting line-up

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich will look to make it three wins in a row in all competitions for the first time since early this season when they travel to the North Rhine-Westphalia to face Borussia Dortmund this Saturday.

The Bavarians endured a poor run of form just before the September international break as they failed to win in four consecutive league games (D3, L1). But since returning from the break, the visitors have rediscovered their clinical edge having won the two games they have played so far.

The first of those wins came in a 4-0 thrashing of Bayer Leverkusen last Friday. The result was followed by a 5-0 win over Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League, meaning that Julian Nagelsmann’s men have won their opening three UCL group games and sit top of a difficult group ahead of Inter Milan and Barcelona

They travel to Signal Iduna Park sitting third on the Bundesliga table, two points behind surprise leaders Union Berlin. Having won each of their last eight games against Dortmund, Die Roten will come into this tie confident of getting a positive result that will keep them in a pole position to reclaim the top spot should either Union Berlin or Freiburg drop points this weekend.

Possible Bayern Munich starting line-up

Manuel Neuer; Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upamecano, Matthijs de Ligt, Alphonso Davies; Leon Goretzka, Marcel Sabitzer; Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry; Jamal Musiala, Sadio Mane.

Injured: Bouna Sarr, Thomas Muller, Lucas Hernández, Joshua Kimmich
