FC Köln 2-2 Dortmund: Sensational Haaland salvage a draw with a last-gasp equaliser

Erling Haaland’s brace helps Dortmund secure a thrilling draw against FC Köln.

Borussia Dortmund managed to share spoils with FC Koln after Erling Haaland scored a last-minute equaliser.

Die Borussen were in the quest for a top-four spot despite their impressive Champions League form, which helped them progress to the last eight of the competition after defeating Sevilla last week.

Haaland struck early on in the game before the hosts equalised in the 35th minute with the help of Duda’s penalty.

Koln were in the driver seat after Ismail Jakobs found the nets in the 65th minute much to the disappointment of Dortmund.

Haaland rescued the visitors with an equaliser at the stroke of full time as Dortmund picked up a draw.

Haaland continues to lift the mediocre Dortmund

Although Dortmund’s form has been worrying in the Bundesliga this season, Haaland remains a treat for the fans.

Today’s brace marked his 21st goal of this season and he averages a goal per game in Bundesliga. The 20-year-old stole the headlines in the past few weeks for scoring a brace in both legs against Sevilla in the Champions League and also did the same against Bayern Munich in the 4-2 defeat.

Dortmund will be facing unstoppable Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and it remains to be seen how they would cope up with the pressure of securing a place in the top four of Bundesliga and the European competitions.

After tonight’s draw, Edin Terzic’s side failed to close the gap with fourth-place Eintracht Frankfurt, who will be their opponents in their next league game.
