Manchester City are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund hotshot Erling Haaland, who is in one of the coveted strikers in Europe at the moment.

According to reports, Manchester City have joined the race with fellow rivals Manchester United and Real Madrid for the signing of the Norwegian striker.

The 20-year-old has been in blistering form since he moved to Borussia Dortmund earlier this year. Prior to his move, Haaland was even more productive with Salzburg.

Haaland has recently scored a hat-trick for Norway, his first with the national team, in the 4-0 routing of Romania in UEFA Nations League.

He has also scored four goals in Bundesliga this season, currently trailing Robert Lewandowski by a goal. Haaland’s uncanny ability to find the nets has seen him score more than 50 goals in his last 48 game across all competitions.

Manchester United were deemed as the favourites to sign the Norwegian in the January transfer window but he ended up joining Die Borussen. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly still furious with the failed attempt and wants to recruit Haaland next summer alongside Jadon Sancho.

Real Madrid have sorted out Haaland as one of their top targets in their planned-out mega transfer spree next summer.

It has also been reported that Pep Guardiola has requested City’s hierarchy to recruit the young Norwegian striker.

Haaland has been cited as the successor to Sergio Aguero, who is in the final year of his contract at the Etihad and also wanted by Inter Milan.
