Los Blancos have held talks with the officials of Roma to discuss a summer move for Spinazzola.

Real Madrid are reportedly interested in signing AS Roma left-back Leonardo Spinazzola. He has a huge impact with the Italian national team in Euro 2020.

It has been reported that the representatives of Madrid and Roma have held talks to work out a possible Borja Mayoral-Spinazzola swap deal.

Mayoral is currently on loan at Giallorossi, having joined them from Los Blancos last summer. They are interested in making the Spaniard’s deal a permanent one after an impressive 2020/21 season in Serie A.

Los Blancos, who have financial deficiencies, are looking to make the most of Mayoral’s situation as they have requested Spinazzola in a swap deal.

The 28-year-old is understood to be admired by his compatriot Carlo Ancelotti, who is set to take over as the coach of Madrid next season.

Furthermore, Spinazzola is valued at around €26m. It could be a win-win situation for Madrid as Roma needs to pay €20m for the permanent capture of Mayoral.

Spinazzola had enjoyed a great season with Roma, and now he is key to Roberto Mancini’s side in the European Championship.

The Azzurri star is known for his sheer pace and attacking prowess rather than his defensive qualities.

Ancelotti will be aware that the left-back position needs strengthening due to the frequent injuries to first-choice Ferlan Mendy; meanwhile, Marcelo is past his prime.

Ths defence looks vulnerable now as Sergio Ramos has announced his departure from the club, and Raphael Varane could also follow him to walk out of the club this summer.
