Chelsea are willing to sign the Manchester United midfielder Angel Gomes.
According to Independent, the player is out of contract and he has refused to sign a new deal with the Red Devils.
Apparently, Manchester United offered him a deal worth £25,000 with bonuses. However, the player has other offers that are better.
Chelsea are keen on signing him and they have offered a lucrative deal. Super agent Pini Zahavi is involved in discussions between the two parties.
The player has been contacted by clubs from Germany, Spain, Italy and Portugal with Hamburg, Valencia and Benfica understood to be among those leading the chase.
It will be interesting to see if Chelsea can sign the player this summer.
Angel Gomes is a top class talent who has a big future ahead of him. If Chelsea manage to snap him ip now, he could end up saving them millions.
Furthermore, it would be a direct blow to Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has himself confirmed that the player is not keen on renewing with the Red Devils.
Solskjaer said: “I’ve got no news, nothing. I’ve not heard from them last night or this morning, it seems like they haven’t managed to agree. The answer is probably short and ‘yes [he’s leaving]’, then.”
Chelsea have an outstanding pool of young talent at their disposal and Gomes would be another quality addition. Frank Lampard has trusted young players to get him through this season and most of them have not disappointed.
Gomes could be an important part of the Chelsea squad next season.
