West Ham

West Ham will welcome Anderlecht to London this Thursday looking to seal their place in the next round of the Europa Conference League.

The Hammers have endured a poor start to the Premier League season, with a poor run of form leaving them in 13th place, a far cry from their placement last season after nine rounds of football.

However, West Ham have been in an impeccable form in the Europa Conference League this season, picking up three wins on the bounce to sit in first place in Group B, five points ahead of Anderlecht in second place.

Head coach David Moyes knows that his side are in firm control of proceedings in Group B, however, there is still more to play for in the return leg against the Belgians and the Scottish coach will be keen to see his side pick up yet another win and maintain their impressive start to the Europa Conference League campaign.

Gianluca Scamacca scored the only goal away at Belgium and picked up another goal in the win over Fulham last weekend.

The Italian has been a revelation since signing on from Sassuolo, with ten goals in 13 appearances in all competitions, four in the Europa Conference League. He will be expected to lead the attack once more when the Belgians come into town.

Possible West Ham starting line-up

Lukasz Fabianski; Thilo Kehrer, Craig Dawson, Kurt Zouma, Aaron Cresswell; Tomas Soucek, Declan Rice; Pablo Fornals, Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen; Gianluca Scamacca.

Injured: Nayef Aguerd

Doubtful: Maxwel Cornet

Suspended: None

Anderlecht

Anderlecht have been on a slow decline in recent years. After having dominated the Belgian Premier League for years since its inception, the Brussels-based side are yet to lift a trophy since winning the Belgian Super Cup in the 2017/2018 season.

The Belgian heavyweights have started the season on a low and have picked up five losses, one draw and five wins in their last eleven games in the Belgian PL.

Felice Mazzu’s side have not enjoyed better fortunes in the Europa Conference League either, and have picked up just one win, one draw and one loss in their last three games in the competition.

Anderlecht come into this game one point ahead of Silkeborg, and their game against David Moyes’s side is a must-win for the Belgians if they are to stave off competitions from the Danish side who play Romanian side FCSB in fourth place.

Felice Mazzu’s side come into this game off the back of a 1-3 win over Mechelen in the Belgian PL, and the Belgian coach will be hoping that their win last weekend will serve as a springboard to their success when they travel to the London Stadium.

Possible Anderlecht starting line-up

Hendrik van Crombrugge; Zeno Debast, Wesley Hoedt,Hannes Delcroix, Michael Murillo, Moussa N’Diaye; Kristian Arnstad, Yari Verschaeren, Francis Amuzu; Fabio Silva, Lior Refaelov.

Injured: Jan Vertonghen, Adrien Trebel, Marco Kana, Majeed Ashimeru
