West Ham United

After suffering two disappointing results in the Premier League against Southampton (1-1) and Liverpool (1-0 loss), West Ham’s resurgence was beginning to be questioned.

But the Hammers put every negative thought to bed last time out as they defeated Bournemouth 2-0 at home to move up to tenth place in the league table.

The win was their fifth consecutive win at the London Stadium and extended their unbeaten run in their home ground to six games (W5, D1).

In Europe they are in fine form too and have won their last six European games–four of those wins came in the group stage of the Conference League.

As a result, David Moyes’ side to the top spot in their group. They now need just a point to maintain that position and secure their place in the knockout phase.

With Jarrod Bowen becoming the club’s joint-top scorer in European competition with his goal in West Ham’s 2-1 win over Anderlecht in their last UECL match, Moyes will hope for more inspiration from Bowen to help his side secure the top spot.

Possible West Ham starting line-up

Lukasz Fabianski; Ben Johnson, Thilo Kehrer, Kurt Zouma, Aaron Cresswell; Tomas Soucek, Declan Rice; Pablo Fornals, Saïd Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen; Gianluca Scamacca.

Injured: Nayef Aguerd, Lucas Paqueta

Doubtful: Maxwel Cornet, Craig Dawson

Silkeborg

Despite being one of the relatively unless names in the Europa Conference League this season, Danish Superliga side Silkeborg have not disappointed in their first foray into European football.

The visitors come into this round of games sitting in second place, two points ahead of Anderlecht, who many predicted will finish in second place behind West Ham.

Their position in the table was facilitated by two huge 5-0 wins over FCSB. A win in London will be enough to see them qualify for the UECL preliminary knock-out round if Anderlecht slips against FCSB in Group B’s other game.

However, their preparations for this re-match have not gone too well, with Tobias Salquist sent off during a 3-2 defeat to Horsens in the league at the weekend. Manager Kent Nielsen felt his side “deserved one point” from that game.

They have now won just four of their 12 competitive away matches this season (D2, L6), keeping only three clean sheets in the process.

Possible Silkeborg starting line-up

Nicolai Larsen; Oliver Sonne, Tobias Salquist, Joel Felix; Lukas Klitten; Stefan Thordarson, Robert Gojani, Anders Klynge; Kasper Kusk, Sebastian Joergensen; Nicklas Helenius.

Injured: Niclas Pedersen, Gustav Dahl

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None
