Köln 2-4 Leipzig: Leipzig made a Comeback to claim third table-spot

Köln 2-4 Leipzig - Leipzig made a Comeback to claim third table-spot

RB Leipzig picked up a 4-2 win away from home against Cologne yesterday.

Timo Werner struck his 25th goal of the season as Leipzig close in on Champions League qualification.

The win over Cologne takes them to third in the table and the German outfit will fancy their chances of staying there.

Cordoba handed the home side a well-deserved lead on the 7th minute but Leipzig came back into the contest with a well taken goal from Patrik Schick on the 20th minute.

The visitors went ahead through Christopher Nkunku and then doubled their advantage when Werner struck early on in the second half.

Modeste scored a few minutes later to give Cologne some hope but Olmo finished things off with a fourth goal for Leipzig on the 57th minute.

RB Leipzig will be desperate to play in the champions league next season and they will be hoping for a top three finish.

They are in a good position now and they will hope to finish the season strongly.

Leipzig are just two points adrift of second placed Borussia Dortmund and they could easily overtake them in the next few games.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich continue to dominate the league and are seven points clear at the top of the table.

It is only a matter of time before the Bavarian giants are crowned as the champions once again.

Elsewhere, Cologne have lost for the second time this week, dropping them to 11th place in the Bundesliga.
