Junior Firpo on the radar of Napoli

Series A outfit Napoli are interested in taking Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo on loan with a view for a permanent signing later.

Firpo hasn’t managed to nail down a regular place in the starting line up since his transfer from Real Betis and the Spaniard continues to play a second fiddle to Jordi Alba.

Barca, perhaps, are said to be interested in the permanent sale of Firpo as they look to generate funds ahead of the next season.

Firpo could also gain interest from Premier League clubs, meaning that the Catalans would take their time to weigh down the offers.

Barca to renew Mingueza’s deal.

Barcelona are set to offer a new contract for young defender Oscar Mingueza to fend off interests from his potential suitors.

Mingueza has impressed in his debut season and thrived at different positions in the defence, thereby giving Ronald Koeman a lot of solutions.

The Catalans are keen to tie the La Masia graduate to a new deal as they are aware of interests from Sampdoria, Real Betis and Brighton.

Laporta expresses his love for Messi

Joan Laporta, the new president of Barcelona, expressed his ambition to keep Lionel Messi at the Nou Camp for good on his inauguration.

Although the Argentine was present amongst the turnout, Laporta didn’t hide away his ambitions to make the six-time Ballon d’Or stay at Barca.

“We’re going to try and convince him to stay because he’s the best ever and, forgive me for this Leo, but I love you and Barca loves you too. If this stadium was full, I’m sure you couldn’t leave.”
