Real Madrid News: Erling Haaland desire, Rivaldo on Ronaldo return, Mayoral mistake

Erling Haaland desire

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has been linked with several European clubs recently but the player is thought to be keen on a move to Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants need to sign a quality long term replacement for Karim Benzema and the Norwegian would be a world-class addition to their side.

The 20-year-old is already one of the best strikers in world football and it will be interesting to see if Real Madrid can agree on a fee with the German outfit this summer.

Rivaldo not hopeful on Cristiano return

Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with an emotional return to Santiago Bernabeu but former Brazilian international Rivaldo believes that the Portuguese is no longer the same player he used to be.

Rivaldo said: “It would make the Madridistas very happy, but it would also be a risk.

“We must recognise that the Ronaldo who left Real Madrid a few years ago isn’t the player that would be coming back.

“Of course, he will continue to score many goals, but it may be that in this stage of his career, too much is being asked of him, and if things don’t go well then his status as a legend may be damaged.”

It is evident that Ronaldo has regressed since his move to Juventus and Real Madrid should look to invest in younger and talented players instead.

A move for Kylian Mbappe for example would make more sense than bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club.

Zidane might have been right about Borja Mayoral

Real Madrid probably regret their decision to let Borja Mayoral leave the club.

The attacker has been outstanding for Roma since joining them and it is clear why Zidane wanted to keep him at the club. Mayoral has scored 10 goals in 11 starts for the Italian outfit since joining them on loan.

Real Madrid are lacking in depth right now and they could have used someone like Mayoral in their attack. Benzema needs more support in the attack and Mayoral could have been useful for Zidane.
