Real Madrid planning sensible swap deal to land Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland-Borussia Dortmund

The Norwegian striker has emerged as a top target for the Spanish champions this summer.

Having failed to make any signing last summer, Real Madrid look like they are not hanging out this time around.

Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, who has been wanted by Europe’s top clubs, has reportedly emerged as a top summer target for Los Blancos.

Although PSG ace Kylian Mbappe is still on the wishlist, Madrid are prioritizing a move for the Norwegian striker.

The report also adds that the Spanish club are planning to offer any of their out of favour stars Mariano Diaz and Luka Jovic to Dortmund in a player plus cash deal.

Mariano has frozen out of the squad over the past few seasons, hence it would be difficult to convince the German club by offering him.

As far as Jovic’s case is concerned, the Serbian has failed to live up to his expectations although he was brought to Bernabeu with a view to replacing Karim Benzema in the long term. Jovic has been currently loaned to Eintracht Frankfurt and Zinedine Zidane looks to prefer Haaland over the Serbian.

Dortmund could be entertained at the prospect of having a young talent like Jovic at their disposal but it remains to be seen whether the Bundesliga outfit would still accept the offer from Madrid while having the emerging talent Youssoufa Moukoko by their side.

Die Borussen would be forced to sell some of their star players like Jadon Sancho and Haaland as they have been hit financially by the pandemic.
