The Catalan club have recently purchased the talented Austrian on loan from Rapid Wien.

Barcelona reserves team have recently secured a season-long loan move for Yusuf Demir from Austrian outfit Rapid Wien.

The Catalan club has the option to make his deal a permanent one for 10m euros in the future.

Demir had already caught the eyes of top European clubs with his premature talent, racking up some impressive displays for Wien over the last seasons. However, Barca managed to win the race for the talented youngster.

The 18-year-old is currently part of Barca’s pre-season campaign, and according to reports, manager Ronald Koeman has been left stunned with the youngster’s showings in the training ground.

Demir was also featured in the first pre-season game against Nastic and created a good impression. As a result, the Austrian prodigy can now make a jump to the first team next season.

Koeman would assess his options after the pre-season, and many reserves players like Alex Collado and Nico Gonzalez are tipped to feature for the first team next season.

Demit mainly operates as a winger but can also be useful in the advanced midfield role. There are many qualities present in him, but the current pre-season will be very important to secure a place in the senior Barcelona team. The financial situation and cap limits for players force Barcelona to look inside at La Masia and homegrown talent.

It remains to be seen if Demir can have an impact in the remaining pre-seasons and convince Koeman to make his way to the first team.
