Atalanta picked up a stunning 3-2 win over Lazio in the Italian Serie A yesterday.

The home side fought back from 2-0 down to dent Lazio’s title hopes. The away side were 2-0 up in the first ten minutes thanks to an own goal from De Roon and a well taken effort from Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Robin Gosens brought his team back into the game with his 38th minute goal and the hosts fought back in the second half as well. 

Atalanta scored the equalizer through Malinovskiy on the 66th minute and José Luis Palomino headed in the winner 10 minutes from time.

Lazio were four points behind Juventus when they went into the game and they had a great chance to close the gap to just one point. This is a massive blow to their title aspirations and clawing back the deficit will now prove to be very difficult against Juventus.

Meanwhile, Atalanta are now fourth in the table and they will look to finish in the top three. They are just four points adrift of Inter Milan. 

The home side have had an impressive season so far and they will want to finish it strongly. 

Atalanta have impressed in the Champions League as well with their free-flowing football. 

Juventus will be delighted to see their title rivals slip up and they will now look to extend the lead at the top with a win in their next game.

It will be interesting to see how Lazio bounce back from this defeat now. As for Atalanta, the comeback will have given them immense confidence for the remaining games.
