Lille President confirms Gabriel Magalhaes leaving amid Man Utd interest

The Brazilian centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to Premier League

Manchester United have received a huge transfer boost as their defender target Gabriel Magalhaes could be on his way out of Lille this summer.

As per reports, Lille president Gerard Lopez has confirmed the departure of the Brazilian departure this summer.

Lopez said,

“The way we work is very simple. We explain to him [Gabriel] & his environment, his agent, what we’re looking for, & once we get those offers the choice is his,”

“We are there now, so we told him: Eventually you have to make a decision but we’re not pressing you.

“I think he will make it this week, or next week at the latest. He is leaving, we’ve given the OK for that.”

The 22-year-old is also understood to be on the radar of Arsenal, Everton and Napoli.

It was previously reported that Napoli have an agreement in place with Lille over the signing of Gabriel, who had been touted as the replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly.

Arsenal are looking keen on the Brazilian defender as Mikel Arteta wants to reinforce the defence ahead of next season.

Man Utd are also in the market for a new centre-back and Gabriel has been considered as a priority. Lille are reportedly willing to sell Gabriel for around 27 million pounds.

It will be interesting to see how the Red Devils can edge out others in the transfer race for the Brazilian defender.
