Paris Saint-Germain slipped to a shock 2-1 defeat at home to Nantes in the French League earlier tonight.

Julian Draxler opened the scoring for the home side in the 42nd minute but the visitors scored twice in the second half to secure all three points.

Mauricio Pochettino decided to rest key players like Icardi and Paredes and he was without the injured Neymar for this game and it has ended up costing him dearly. Draxler was given a rare start and the German justified his selection with a goal.

However, the others underperformed after they were given a chance to impress. The likes of Mbappe failed to deliver as well.

Randal Kolo and Moses Simon scored in quick succession, to turn the table against Ligue 1 champions. PSG came into this game needing a win in order to close the gap with league leaders Lille, instead, they find themselves three points adrift after the defeat.

It will be interesting to see if they can bridge the gap in the coming weeks and defend their League titles.

Meanwhile, Nantes are fighting for their survival in the French League and tonight’s win could not have been better timed for them. The win tonight leaves them 18th in the table just one point behind Lorient and Nantes will fancy their chances of getting out of the bottom three with a win in the coming weeks.

PSG have been quite inconsistent this season and they have dropped six points in the last five League games. They will have to improve immensely if they want to win the title this season and it remains to be seen whether inside wiring on all cylinders again.

Angel Di Maria & another PSG player had their homes broken into during the Nantes match. In Di Maria's case, his family were present. #PSGFCN
