The Les Parisiens chief says Mbappe will stay at the club beyond this summer.

PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has addressed Kylian Mbappe‘s future, insisting the French World Cup winner would not leave the club this summer.

Mbappe’s future has been in the air ever since PSG became the favourites to sign Lionel Messi – the deal was completed successfully.

Even before that, the French forward was said to be reluctant to pen a new deal, causing tension among the PSG camp.

The 23-year-old’s contract expires next year, and PSG were said to be caught in a dilemma on whether to leave him for free next summer or sell for a considerable fee this term.

Now, PSG president Al Khelaifi has shrugged off the exit speculations, stating that Mbappe has no reason to leave Parc Des Princes this summer.

Al Khelaifi said: “The future of Mbappe? I think everyone knows. His future is clear. He said it himself. He wanted us to have a competitive team, “

“Well, we have the most competitive in the world right now. So there is no excuse for him now. He can’t do anything else but stay.”

Real Madrid are said to be the potential suitors of Mbappe, but they might have suffered a blow after Khelaifi’s statement. However, they can try their best when he becomes a free agent – next summer, if he opts against a new deal with PSG.

Having plied his trade with Neymar over the last few seasons, Mbappe will now have the privilege to play alongside Messi for the upcoming season.
