Leanardo has revealed that Paris St-Germain would consider signing the Portuguese star.
PSG sporting director Leanardo has admitted his interest in signing Juventus ace Cristiano Ronaldo.
Juventus are reportedly looking to sever ties with the Portuguese ace next owing to expensive wages – currently 28m pounds per year.
While PSG have been previously linked with a move to Ronaldo, Sporting director Leanardo has now said that Les Parisiens would explore the possibilities of signing the Portuguese star should Juve let him off the hook.
‘Maybe tomorrow Cristiano Ronaldo wakes up and says I want to go play elsewhere.
‘Who can buy him? It’s a closed circle. PSG enters this circle. Usually, it is about opportunities, situations.
‘The transfer window, we have to prepare for it and that’s what we do. We have our priorities, our lists, but something unforeseen can happen.’
Leanardo also believes that PSG can pull off a transfer of Ronaldo’s magnitude despite the financial crisis.
‘Last year we lost between 15 and 20 per cent and this year it will be more,’ he detailed. ‘But honestly, at PSG, there is the capacity and the means to overcome the crisis.
‘The other clubs will perhaps have more difficulty to overcome the crisis. But the ambition here is always enormous.’
Ronaldo has been excellent for Juventus this season, getting six goals in Serie A despite missing a couple of matches due to Coronavirus. Even Juventus believe they can sell him for a significant fee given his form despite ageing 35.
The trident of Neymar, Mbappe and Ronaldo would be a treat for the fans and at the same time a nightmare for the defenders.
