Everton were held to a 0-0 draw at home against Liverpool last night.

The Toffees came close to scoring towards the end of the game but Tom Davies’ effort came back off the post after some impressive play from Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin.

Liverpool struggled to create any meaningful chances throughout the game but the Reds will be reasonably pleased with a point from this game.

Jurgen Klopp’s players seemed rusty and that was expected after such a lengthy layoff.

Carlo Ancelotti has a good record against Jurgen Klopp in the home games and the Italian will be pleased with his side’s showing.

Everton were probably the better team over the 90 minutes and they could have easily won on another day.

The draw leaves Everton 12th in the table, two points adrift of Arsenal in the tenth place. The Toffees will be looking to finish the season in the top half.

A strong finish to the season would certainly help them achieve that.

Everton have improved a lot since Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival and a good finish to this season would give them the momentum and belief for the next season.

As for Liverpool, they are still comfortably ahead of the rest on top of the table and they could win the title this week if they win their game against Palace and City lose.

It will be interesting to see if the Reds can get back to winning ways in their next game.
