Liverpool drawn against Manchester United in the FA Cup

Manchester United-Liverpool

Liverpool have been drawn against Manchester United in the fourth round of the FA Cup and the tie is expected to take place a week after the two teams face off at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp will not be pleased with the draw especially with the luck they have had all the past few years.

Liverpool have been drawn against Premier League opposition 17 times in 26 domestic Cup draws under Jurgen Klopp and the Reds would have expected an easier opposition in the next round.

It will be interesting to see if Liverpool can improve on their recent form and book their place in the next round of the competition with a win over bitter rivals Manchester United. Liverpool have not won a domestic cup under Jurgen Klopp and they will be hoping to change that this season.

The Reds have not won away from home against Manchester United in the FA Cup since 1921 and this will be an extremely tough outing for them given their injury problems and recent run of form.

Meanwhile the two teams will face off on the 17th of this month in the Premier League and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United can establish their title credentials with a win over the Champions.

Liverpool and Manchester United are level on points right now but the Red Devils have a game in hand and they could be heading to Anfield with a 3 point lead at the top of the table.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool can overcome their injury issues and pick up a vital win over Manchester United in the league now. The likes of Joel Matip and Naby Keita could return from injury to provide them with a major boost.
