Liverpool have been linked with the German striker Timo Werner for a while now.

As per Mirror, the Reds are now looking to free up funds so that they can sign him. Werner has a €60m release clause in his contract and Liverpool are looking to sell three of their first team players to raise some cash.

Xherdan Shaqiri, Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic have been deemed surplus to requirements at Anfield.

Shaqiri has been a good squad option for Klopp since joining the club but his fitness issues have been a cause for concern this season. The Swiss winger has been on the sidelines for most of the 19/20 season.

It is not a surprise that Liverpool are looking to cash in on him.

Meanwhile, Harry Wilson has impressed a lot during his loan spell with Bournemouth. He will certainly attract some attention this summer and it would be wise to let him leave when his stock is high.

Wilson is a good player but he is not good enough to break into the starting lineup ahead of Mane or Salah. He is better suited to a midtable club.

As for Grujic, he has done well in the Bundesliga and he is a highly talented player. However, the Reds can’t offer him the game time he needs right now.

If Liverpool can find a way to get rid of their fringe players and land Werner, it would improve them a lot. Their already world class attack will have more cutting edge next season.
