Liverpool youngster Harvey Elliott has signed a professional contract with the club.
Elliott has been highly impressive during his first team cameos so far and he has a big future ahead of him.
The boyhood Red has seen Jurgen Klopp’s team win the UEFA Super cup, the Club World Cup and the Premier League already and he will be hoping to be a big part of the club’s history going forward.
Elliott has tremendous maturity and he is already a part of the first team setup. If he can continue to develop at this rate, he could be a first team regular in a few years.
Speaking to the media after his contract signing, Elliott said: “I think since the first day I’ve walked in, it’s been an indescribable journey so far. I think now to top it off with my first professional contract is a dream come true for me and my family. I’m excited to see what the future holds and I’m just excited to give everything to the club and the fans.
“I think when I stepped out on the Anfield pitch when I played Arsenal, I think it was an emotional thing for me. To obviously be watching the players and to be playing them with them, honestly, it’s a dream come true. To be in and around the fans as well, to hear them singing You’ll Never Walk Alone when you’re stepping out on the pitch, it did bring a tear to my eye. I just can’t wait to give everything back to them and just to show them what I can do.”
With Adam Lallana expected to leave the club this summer, Liverpool will need an attacking midfielder to step up and fill that void.
The likes of Elliott and Curtis Jones could be an option for Klopp.
Jones has recently signed a long-term deal with the Reds as well. He followed it up with a goal against Aston Villa in the last game.
