Manchester City picked up a 5-0 win away from home against Brighton last night.

The Premier League runners up have done exceptionally well to bounce back from their defeat against Southampton with two consecutive 5-0 wins against Newcastle and Brighton.

Pep Guardiola’s side have shown that they have what it takes to reclaim the title next season.

Raheem Sterling scored a fantastic hat trick for the away side, and they romped to a comfortable win. Gabriel Jesus and Bernardo Silva were the other scorers for the away side.

Brighton struggled to get into the game right from the onset, and they failed to match up to City’s intensity and precision.

The away side dominated throughout the ninety minutes, and Guardiola will be mightily impressed with his players’ showing.

Manchester City have managed to turn in quite a few splendid performances this season, and they will be slightly disappointed to have conceded the title to Liverpool. With a bit more consistency, they could have easily defended their crown this season.

Guardiola will be hoping his players can carry this form into the next season now. Manchester City will now look for a favourable outcome from their CAS hearing, and they will be desperate to win the title back.

As for Brighton, the defeat 15th on 36 points, eight points clear of the bottom three. Graham Potter will be content with beating the drop this season. At one stage, they were right in the relegation battle, but things have improved since then.
