Mesut Ozil’s career at Arsenal seems all but over

Arsenal looking to part away with Mesut Ozil

Arsenal have decided to leave Mesut Ozil out of their 25 man Premier League squad.

The German midfielder is no longer a key player for Arteta and it is understandable why the Gunners want to exclude him from their first team plans.

The 32 year old was linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer but he ended up staying.

The Premier League club have failed to agree on a mutual termination with him as well and it seems like the German will stay at the club until the end of this season.

Ozil’s contract with Arsenal expires in the summer and he will be a free agent after that.

Recently the German midfielder was left out of the European squad as well and it seems that Ozil’s career at Arsenal is over now.

The former World Cup winner has surely played his last game for Arsenal and it is disappointing how his time at the club has come to an end.

Ozil used to be a world class player and he could still be very useful for many clubs.

The German is on massive wages and he is a fringe player at the club. Arsenal would have wanted a termination of the contract but it seems that the player is not willing to accept reduced wages.

Clearly, it doesn’t matter to him whether or not he plays again this season.

It will be interesting to see how the situation develops over the next couple of months. Ozil could get another chance to leave when the window reopens in January.
