Pedro doubtful for Chelsea after June 30 as Roma switch confirmed

Chelsea winger Pedro could join Valencia on free transfer Roma

Chelsea winger Pedro is not interested in playing for the club after June 30 this season.

The Spaniard’s contract expires at the end of this month and he has already agreed on a move to Roma.

The Italian side will pay him £56,000 a week for two years. There is an option to extend his contract for another year.

Pedro has been a useful player for the Blues and they will certainly miss him in their remaining games.

Chelsea have been trying to agree on a short extension with the player so that he can play their Premier League games, the FA Cup tie against Leicester and the Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

As per The Athletic, Pedro does not want to sign the extension because he is worried about picking an injury which could scupper his chances of moving to Roma next season.

It will be interesting to see how the Blues cope with his absence now.

Willian is in a similar situation as well but Chelsea have Hudson-Odoi and Pulisic to play as their wingers.

Chelsea are still fighting to secure their place in the top four and losing a key player like Pedro could worry Frank Lampard.

Chelsea have nine games left in the league and the likes of Manchester United and Wolves are not far behind.

It will be interesting to see if they can convince Pedro to change his stance over the next few days.
