Chelsea beat Arsenal 2-0 in the London Derby at Emirates Stadium this afternoon.

Romelu Lukaku provided the European champions with the lead in the 15th minute, whereas Reece James double it before the break.

Arsenal left Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on the bench and started with Gabriel Martinelli at the front, with Bukayo Saka and Pepe.

After matchday-2, Chelsea and Arsenal are in two opposite extremes of the Premier League table, and they are currently in position-1 and position-19, respectively.

Romelu Lukaku star of the Match for Chelsea

Romelu Lukaku had a great start in Premier League, with the opening goal very early into the match. Unfortunately, he narrowly missed out on two other occasions after the break. Bernd Leno made two spectacular saves, one from a Lukaku header, and the other from a Havertz strike. The Belgian created the second one, which can be considered as a half-chance for Kai Havertz from a tough angle.

He kept the Arsenal defence busy with his moves, often held the ball,, and created chances for Mount and Havertz. The credit of this side of Lukaku should go to former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte. Chelsea will be able to reap dividends from these situations as they progress through the current season of the Premier League.

He linked up very well with Mount & Havertz. He gave something to our game so we could play very direct to their last line. He was very good in the counterattacks already. Of course, there’s stuff to improve at this stage of the season. Very good debut…

Thomas Tuchel on Romelu Lukaku

Arsenal lacked leadership

Arsenal tried everything they could in the second half. Even with Xhaka and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, they were wavering and did not have a clue.

Mikel Arteta spent the most in the Premier League so far, but his side could not cope with Chelsea in the midfield and defence.

Only Bukayo Saka was able to test Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy before Aubameyang replaced him.

Tuchel had a serious problem

Thomas Tuchel has the problem that every manager would like to have. He started with Kante, Thiago Silva, Werner, Pulisic, Werner, Chilwell, Chalobah, Ziyech, Hudson-Odoi, and Zouma on the bench. Though Ziyech and Zouma are both linked to moving away from the London club, Tuchel is less likely to part way with the Moroccan striker. The only change that Chelsea could bring in the squad by the end of the summer transfer would be Jules Kounde, and Kurt Zouma could leave the squad.

But Chelsea would continue with incredible bench strength, which could only be compared with Manchester City.

The German manager used Kante, Ziyech and Werner as substitutes.
