Arsenal have been linked with a move for the Valencia striker Maxi Gomez.

The 24-year-old La Liga striker is expected to be sold in January because of the Spanish club’s financial crisis and the Londoners could snap him up.

Arsenal have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette as their strikers but both players have struggled to score on a consistent basis this season.

Maxi Gomez could add goals to the Arsenal side and the increased competition for places would help the likes of Aubameyang and Lacazette improve.

Thomas Partey

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been dealt a major injury blow with midfielder Thomas Partey expected to miss the next few matches after picking up an injury during the north London Derby on Sunday.

Partey went into the Derby game with a thigh injury and it seems that he has aggravated the problem.

The summer signing has been the best player at Arsenal this season and his absence will certainly weaken the London club immensely.

Williams Saliba

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Williams Saliba’s future at the club will be resolved soon.

The youngster has not played for the Gunners this season and he has been linked with a loan move back to France.

The 19-year-old needs to play regular first-team football in order to continue his development and it will be interesting to see if Arteta decides to send him out on loan in the coming weeks.

Gabriel Martinelli

Arsenal have been handed an injury boost with young striker Gabriel Martinelli returning to action from his injury.

The 19-year-old return to action for the clubs under 21 side earlier and he could be back in the first-team fold soon.

Arsenal are lacking in goals at the moment and his return could not have been better timed.

The Brazilian is rated highly at the club and it will be interesting to see if he can help the Gunners improve in the final third.
