 Ben White deal close

Arsenal are thought to be closing in on the signing of Brighton defender Ben White.

According to Guardian, the deal will be worth around £50 million, and the England international has already agreed on personal terms with the London club.

The 23-year-old is highly rated in England, and he could prove to be a quality long term signing for the Gunners.

The defence has been an area of concern for Mikel Arteta, and signing a quality centre back to partner Gabriel is a wise decision.

Arsenal are offering a fee of around £45 million along with £5 million in bonuses.

Ben White has been linked with a move away from Brighton ever since he returned to the club from his loan spell at Leeds United.

He made quite an impression in the Championship with Leeds, and the Whites tried to sign him last summer.

The 23-year-old did reasonably well in the Premier League as well, and it is no surprise that the top clubs are looking to snap him up.

Arsenal will be hoping to return to the Champions League as soon as possible, and they will need to strengthen their squad sufficiently in order for that to happen.

Ben White is far from his peak right now, and he is likely to improve a lot with game time. That said, he is good enough to make an immediate impact at Arsenal next season.

Guendouzi move edges closer.

Meanwhile, Matteo Guendouzi is thought to be closing in on the move to Marseille.

Apparently, the midfielder agreed on personal terms with the French outfit a week ago, and the deal is now getting closer between the two clubs.

The Premier League side demanding a fee of around £17.2 million for the highly-rated central midfielder, and Marseille are hoping to sign him on a loan deal with an obligation to buy.

The midfielder is clearly not in Arteta’s plans anymore, and a move away from Arsenal would be ideal for his career. He needs to regain his confidence and form, and that can only happen with regular game time.
