Silva’s agent Jorge Mendes is reportedly seeking a new destination for the Portuguese star.

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is reportedly keen on leaving Etihad this summer, with his agent Jorge Mendes currently seeking a new destination.

Silva has been an integral part of Pep Guardiola’s side over the years but he feels that his importance must have withered following the arrival of Jack Grealish on a £100m move from Aston Villa.

Grealish played for the entirety in his debut against Tottenham last week and if Kevin de Bruyne returns to the starting line-up, Silva is unlikely to stand a chance to prove himself.

Guardiola had earlier stated that the Portuguese playmaker wanted to leave this summer and City are open to selling him in order to generate funds for the transfer of long-time target Harry Kane.

Reports also state that the 26-year-old has refused to move to Tottenham as part of Kane’s swap deal and his preferred destination appears to be La Liga.

Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have been linked with the Portuguese international in the summer transfer window, but the former are unlikely to sign him due to their financial crisis.

Meanwhile, Atletico had signed highly-rated midfielder Rodrigo de Paul and their priority appears to be strengthening the attack, as they have been linked with Rafa Mir and Dusan Vlahovic.

City would only part ways with Silva for an offer that matches their demands and they don’t intend to include him in an exchange deal either.
