Brentford

Brentford will look to continue their positive start to the season when they welcome Arsenal to Brentford Community Stadium this Sunday.

The hosts who opened their league campaign with a 2-2 draw with Leicester City have continued to surprise many, winning twice since that draw and losing just once–a 3-2 agonising loss to Fulham.

They come into this tie on the back of a huge 5-2 win over Leeds United, taking their points tally for the season to nine points and leaving them seated in eighth position, ahead of this round.

With Thomas Frank still keen on remaining in West London after being linked to the vacant Brighton job, Brentford fans can expect still to see their side produce special performances, especially at home where they are unbeaten this season (W2, D1).

The Brentford Community Stadium has witnessed some special results this season, with two huge wins against Manchester United (4-0) and Leeds United (5-1) the pick of the bunch this season.

And so, the Bees will come into this tie confident of causing another huge upset as they plot a top-half finish in the top flight for the first time since 1937/38.

Possible Brentford starting line-up

David Raya; Aaron Hickey, Pontus Jansson, Ben Mee, Rico Henry; Shandon Baptiste, Vitaly Janlet, Mathias Jensen; Ivan Toney, Kean Lewis-Potter, Bryan Mbeumo.

Injured: Sergi Canos, Ethan Pinnock, Christian Norgaard

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None

Arsenal

After suffering their first league loss of the season against Manchester United last time out in the league, Arsenal will look to get back to winning ways when they travel across to West London to face Brentford.

The Gunners set the pace early in the Premier League with five straight wins. But their winning run was brought to a halt at Old Trafford in Game week six as Manchester United beat them 3-1, leaving them now sitting one point ahead of Manchester City at the top of the table.

And so they will come into this tie desperate to get back to winning ways to ensure that they remain at the summit going into the international break.

Having had more than a week to prepare for this game due to the changes in the scheduling of games occasioned by the death of Queen Elizabeth II, Mikel Arteta will expect his side to come out flying and net early against a Brentford side that inflicted a 2-1 win over them here last season.

Possible Arsenal starting line-up

Aaron Ramsdale; Ben White, William Saliba, Gabriel, Oleksandr Zinchenko; Granit Xhaka, Albert Sambi-Lokonga; Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli; Gabriel Jesus.

Injured: Reiss Nelson, Thomas Partey, Mohamed Elneny,  Emile Smith-Rowe

Doubtful: Cedric Soares

Suspended: None
