Burnley 1-1 Everton: Calvert Lewin strike ensures an away point

Everton continue poor form with a draw against Burnley.

Everton have been held to a 1-1 draw against Burnley in the Premier League earlier today.

Robbie Brady scored the opening goal of the game three minutes into the game, but Everton got back into the game at the stroke of half time through Dominic Calvert Lewin.

The Toffees came into the game needing a win after their recent dip in form. However, they struggled to break down the Burnley defence despite enjoying a lot of possession.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side started the season in impressive form, but they have gone downhill over the last few weeks.

After the significant summer outlay, Ancelotti will be under pressure to guide his side to a European finish.

Everton will have to improve a lot in order to qualify for the Europa League this season.

The likes of Sigurdsson and Calvert Lewin had the chance to increase Everton’s advantage in the second half, but Burnley managed to hold on for a draw in the end.

The win leaves Everton 7th in the Premier League table with 17 points from 11 games. Burnley have six points under their belt.

It will be interesting to see if Everton can improve in the coming weeks and put together a winning run.

They have the quality to finish in the top seven, but Everton will have to find some sort of consistency in the coming months.
