Chelsea are reportedly keen on signing the Sevilla defender Jules Kounde this summer.
According to reports, the Blues are currently in talks with the Spanish club regarding a summer transfer.
The 22-year-old Frenchman has already agreed on personal terms with the Premier League giants, and he is excited to join the European Champions. The player has been linked with Spurs as well.
The Blues are looking to pull off a player plus cash deal for the French international, and they have offered 26-year-old defender Kurt Zouma as a part of the deal.
Sevilla have no problem accommodating Zouma, but they want more than the €30-35 million cash offer that has been proposed.
It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can finalise an agreement in the coming days now.
The fact that the player is keen on a move to Stamford Bridge puts Chelsea in a position of strength when it comes to negotiations.
Kounde is one of the most exciting young defenders around Europe right now, and he has the potential to develop into a world-class player. The 22-year-old can operate as a right-back as well as a centre back.
Thomas Tuchel must look to bring in defensive reinforcements this summer, especially with the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva in their 30s.
Chelsea need to start planning for the future, and Kounde would be a sensational long term signing for them.
