Chelsea

After their Champions League master class in midweek, Chelsea will return to Premier League action this Saturday looking to record two consecutive wins for the first time this season.

The Blues rekindled their hopes of finishing top of their UEFA Champions League group stage and qualifying for the next stage of the tournament with an impressive 3-0 win over AC Milan on Wednesday. Goals from Wesley Fofana, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang and Reece James was enough to seal the win for Graham Potter’s men in front of a jubilant Stamford Bridge crowd.

As they return to Stamford Bridge for the second game in a row, Potter will be hoping his side can produce another energetic display as he looks to win his third game as Chelsea coach, his second in the league, after his side beat Crystal Palace last weekend.

Currently sat fifth in the table with a goal difference of zero having scored and conceded ten goals, the hosts will have to tighten up at the back and become more clinical in front to be able to mount a serious push for a top-four finish.

With the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United still struggling, Potter will know that this is the best time for his side to rack up points to avoid getting drawn out of the race for the top four later in the season when the other teams return to form.

Possible Chelsea starting line-up

Kepa Arrizabalaga; Trevoh Chalobah, Kalidou Koulibaly, Thiago Silva; Reece James, Mateo Kovacic, Mason Mount, Ben Chilwell; Raheem Sterling, Kai Havertz, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Injured: Ngolo Kante

Doubtful: Jorginho, Edouard Mendy

Suspended: None

Wolves

Wolves will begin life without Bruno Lage this Saturday when they travel to London.

The visitors travel in disarray after sacking Lage following their 2-0 defeat to another London side West Ham United last weekend. So they won’t be relishing another trip to the capital.

Wolves have been linked with several potential new bosses, with Sevilla’s Julen Lopetegui emerging as the favourite to take over. But for their trip to London, Steve Davis and James Collins will be in charge. The duo have a job on their hands as they try to guide them to a first win since early September (L2).

Wolves have struggled badly on the road as they have no PL away win since March (D2, L6). But Wolves’ fans might be comforted by the fact that the last time the goal-shy Wolves scored more than once in a league away game was against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a 22-2 draw in May.

But with only three goals scored in the league so far (the fewest in the league), the visitors have to find a way to keep their backline tight as they are still without new signing Diego Costa while their main striker Raul Jimenez still struggled with fitness issues.

Possible Wolves starting line-up

Jose Sa; Jonny, Nelson Semedo, Jonny, Max Kilman, Rayan Ait-Nouri; Matheus Nunes, João Moutinho, Boubacar Traore; Adama Traore, Goncalo Guedes, Daniel Podence.

Injured: Hee-Chan Hwang, Sasa Kalajdzic, Raul Jimenez, Pedro Neto

Doubtful: Diego Costa

Suspended: Ruben Neves

Prediction

Chelsea 2-0 Wolves
