Crystal Palace produced a splendid performance against the current leaders to earn a draw.

Tottenham have been held to 1-1 draw by impressive Crystal Palace, with Jeffrey Schlupp snatching a late equaliser.

Spurs were coming into the game after an emphatic win in the Europa League against Antwerp midweek and looked to continue their winning momentum in the Premier League.

And they also were the one to draw first blood as Harry Kane found the nets with a belter of a strike, combining once again with his beloved strike partner Heung-Min Son.

Crystal Palace gained the momentum right before the first half when Wilfried Zaha’s strike hit the post.

The second half was dominated by the Eagles while Spurs looked comfortable in absorbing the pressure and rely on counter-attacks.

Christian Benteke had two heading opportunities but all of them didn’t find the target.

However, the resistance was broken in the 81st minute when Jeffery Schlupp put the hosts on level terms. Eze’s free-kick went straight into the chest of Hugo Lloris before Schlupp slotted the ball into the nets on the French goalkeeper’s spillage.

On the other hand, the Eagles goalkeeper Vicente Guiata had a night to remember as he made a string of stunning saves including Eric Dier’s free kick in the eleventh hour.

Spurs have dropped points at the crucial time, which will allow Liverpool to leapfrog into the top of the table should they win their game against Fulham.

Crystal Palace have secured a deserved draw after their thumping 5 – 1 win over West Brom last week.
