Manchester United legend Eric Cantona is all set to feature in a documentary about the Premier League club.
The former striker will narrate the story of the club in the film and he is reportedly a co-writer of the documentary as well.
The documentary titled The United Way will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on the 10th of May. It will also be available on SKY and NOW on the 24th of May.
The purpose of the film is to present the story of how Manchester United recovered from the horrific Munich disaster and developed into one of the biggest football clubs on the planet. It will also highlight how the social and cultural environment at the time helped shape the club’s evolution.
The United Way will also feature interviews with famous musicians and politicians from Manchester who will be able to reflect on the social and cultural aspects.
The film will cover Manchester United’s epic treble win in 1999 as well. Current Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer played a key role in winning the treble for the Red Devils that year.
Cantona is set to be joined with a host of Manchester United legends including David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt. Other former Manchester United players who will feature in the documentary are Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Bryan Robson, Peter Schmeichel, Teddy Sheringham, Norman Whiteside, Andy Cole.
The film is set to be produced by Matthew Lorenzo and it will be directed by Mat Hodgson. The background score will be produced by the five-time Oscar-nominated, BAFTA-winning composer George Fenton.
