Former Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is rumoured to be ‘interested’ in becoming manager of a Premier League outfit. He has turned down Benfica in January, an £88m contract to manage a club in China this summer and recent offer from Lyon.

Jose Mourinho is eyeing a Premier League return in the hope of becoming the first manager to win significant honours with three clubs from the same division. Both Arsenal and Spurs did not have a smooth journey this season, and they are placed in a fifth and eleventh spot in the premier league table, respectively. He is currently with Sky Sports as a Super Sunday pundit alongside Roy Keane, Gary Neville, Graeme Souness, and Jamie Redknapp.

Rumours are doing round that Real Madrid, coached by Zinedine Zidane, are in contact with Mourinho. He is on good terms with club president Florentino Perez.

Jose Mourinho earlier won eight trophies over two spells at Chelsea, including three Premier League titles and an FA Cup, as well as the League Cup and Europa League at United. It is speculated that Mourinho would be interested in potential vacant roles at north London clubs Arsenal or Tottenham, with both their managers currently under pressure.

The Gunners recently conceded a 2-0 lead against Crystal Palace, struggled to beat Vitoria and lost to Sheffield United.

Tottenham, on the other hand, most recently were between 2-1 by Liverpool. They have suffered a 3-0 defeat against Brighton and were embarrassed in a 7-2 loss by Bayern Munich at home ground.

The 56-year-old, who famously lived in a hotel throughout his time with Manchester United, remains based at his long-time family home in London. Indeed, were Jose Mourinho ever to manage a club in the Premier League again, a club from the capital (like Arsenal or Spurs) would be the logical and more convenient choice.
