Manchester City picked up a comfortable 2-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Pep Guardiola’s side were dominant from start to finish and two second-half goals were enough to ensure all three points for the away side.

Benjamin Mendy scored the opening goal of the game over 58 minutes and Gabriel Jesus wrapped up the scoring on the 74th minute.

City were in cruise control during the first half as well and Kevin De Bruyne could have easily put them ahead. However, the Belgian midfielder struck the crossbar with a free-kick.

Gabriel Jesus had an opportunity to score in the first half as well but the Brazilian striker curled his effort narrowly wide of the crossbar.

Manchester City have now picked up 74 points in the Premier League and they need just eleven more points to claim their fifth Premier League title.

Meanwhile, Leicester City are third in the table with 56 points after tonight’s defeat.

Pep Guardiola decided to rest key players like John Stones, Joao Cancelo, Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden and Raheem Sterling tonight but City managed to grind out all three points without any problems.

The likes of Foden and Sterling came on in the second half and made a positive contribution with the former Liverpool winger setting up Gabriel Jesus for the second goal of the game.

City will now focus on the Champions League contest against Borussia Dortmund. Pep Guardiola’s side are in the driving seat as far as the league title is concerned and they will look to win the Champions League now.
