Leicester

Leicester City will look to win just their second Premier League game of the season when they host Leeds United on Thursday.

The Foxes have been struggling since the season began and only liked up their first win of the campaign three Matchdays ago when they beat PL basement boys Nottingham Forest 4-0.

It was thought that the win would spark a revival in the Leicester squad and he’ll them build momentum. But what has followed so far has been poor performances and bad results. A 2-1 loss to Bournemouth (despite scoring first) was the first in that series followed by a goalless draw with Crystal Palace last time out.

And so they come into this round of games still rooted in the bottom two of the table. However, they will move to within one point of their 15th-placed opponents if they can prevail at the King Power Stadium.

Brendan Rodgers, who has been asked to resign his position as head coach, will be desperate to win this game with a good scoreline and so buy himself some time at the club.

The Northern Irishman will hope that his star player Harvey Barnes can continue his remarkable run of performances against Leeds United.

The 24-year-old winger has netted in his last five appearances versus the Yorkshire giants, four of those outings coming in the top flight over the past two campaigns.

Possible Leicester starting line-up

Danny Ward; Timothy Castagne, Wout Faes, Daniel Amartey, James Justin; Boubakary Soumare; Youri Tielemans, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Ayoze Perez, Harvey Barnes; Patson Daka.

Injured: Wilfred Ndidi, Ryan Bertrand, Ricardo Pereira

Doubtful: Jonny Evans

Suspended: James Maddison

Leeds United

Just like their hosts, Leeds United come into this game on a poor run of results. While performance has been great for Jesse Marsch’s men, results have been terrible.

The Elland Road club were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal last time out despite being the better team over 90 minutes. In a game full of drama from start to finish, Leeds United had a goal ruled out for offside, while they also missed a penalty and had a second spot-kick revoked by VAR.

The result means that the Whites have not won a game since beating Chelsea 3-0 in August. Since then, they have lost four league games and drawn twice.

Three out of those four losses have come away from home where Leeds are yet to win this season and where they have lost each of their last three games.

Having begun the season so well, their fall from grace has been very remarkable. But the home fans have not lost faith in the team and their manager who won the fans over with that big win against Chelsea in August.

With his job secure and with the fans on his side, Marsch will be under no pressure to perform, yet he will be desperate for results to change to avoid getting dragged into a full-blown relegation fight that will threaten his job.

Possible Leeds United starting line-up
